Massive shark attacks on Australian shores

A lot of shark sightings recently occurred on the Australian coastline. Some of them were real shark attacks on human beings:

- A 51 year old surfer who was just paddling away from the beach on his surf was attacked from the side. The shark took away a large chunk of his surf in his jaws. The surfer was lucky to make it back to the shore with just scratches on his thigh.

- A 14-year-old boy who was also surfing away from a beach in Sydney's eastern suburbs, that is in one of the most populated areas of Australia, also got attacked by a shark and managed to escape with minor injuries to one leg.

- Finally, a boat fisher, near Perth, another hugely populated area, saw a shark as big as his 19-feet-boat circling it and called the port authorities on his radio for help.

In addition, sharks have been noticed close to populated swimming beaches causing the beaches to close because of the danger.



Nombreuses attaques de requins

De nombreuses présences de requins ont été récemment signalées sur les côtes australiennes. Plusieurs cas d’attaques sur des êtres humains ont même été enregistrés :

- Un surfeurde 51 ans qui pratiquait loin de la plage a été attaqué par le côté. Le requin a arraché une grande partie de sa planche mais son propriétaire, chanceux, a pu regagner le rivage avec seulement quelques égratignures à la cuisse.

- Un garçon de 14 ans qui surfait, lui aussi, au large d’une plage de la banlieue est de Sydney, l’un des endroits les plus peuplés d’Australie, a réchappé à une attaque de requin avec des blessures légères à la jambe

- Enfin, près de Perth, qui est aussi une ville densément peuplée, un pêcheur a aperçu un requin aussi gros que son bateau décrivant des cercles autour de son embarcation et a appelé les autorités à l’aide.

De plus, des attaques de requins ont été enregistrées près de plages très fréquentées, obligeant les autorités à les interdire au public.
